The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine produced primarily by monocytes and to a lesser extent by lymphocytes. This cytokine has pleiotropic effects in immunoregulation and inflammation. It down-regulates the expression of Th1 cytokines, MHC class II Ags, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages. It also enhances B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production. This cytokine can block NF-kappa B activity, and is involved in the regulation of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Knockout studies in mice suggested the function of this cytokine as an essential immunoregulator in the intestinal tract. Mutations in this gene are associated with an increased susceptibility to HIV-1 infection and rheumatoid arthritis. [provided by RefSeq, May 2020] Function: Inhibits the synthesis of a number of cytokines, including IFN-gamma, IL-2, IL-3, TNF and GM-CSF produced by activated macrophages and by helper T-cells. 白細(xì)胞介素-10(IL-10)是主要由Th2細(xì)胞所產(chǎn)生的一種細(xì)胞因子，活化的B細(xì)胞、單核巨噬細(xì)胞和枯否氏細(xì)胞（Kupffer's cell）等也可產(chǎn)生IL-10。它是以抑制Th細(xì)胞克隆細(xì)胞因子合成為特點(diǎn)的多效免疫調(diào)節(jié)因子。 白介素-10是維護(hù)細(xì)胞因子網(wǎng)絡(luò)平衡的重要負(fù)調(diào)節(jié)因子。其作用機(jī)制可能是降低抗原遞呈細(xì)胞MHCⅡ類抗原表達(dá)，或誘導(dǎo)抗原遞呈細(xì)胞產(chǎn)生另一種細(xì)胞因子，改變細(xì)胞內(nèi)信號傳遞途徑，從而選擇性抑制某些細(xì)胞因子mRNA轉(zhuǎn)錄，并與Th2細(xì)胞產(chǎn)生的IL-4、IL-5有協(xié)同作用。 |
